Chicago xl fest rising stars
XL Festival & Creative Cypher Founder, Troy Pryor, is an advisor for the Chicago Alliance of Film Festivals, Co-Chair of Black Harvest Film Festival, and Chicago International Film Festival/Black Perspectives team. He has collaborated with industry filmmaker and upcoming local filmmakers in the city of Chicago each summer to present the XL Fest.
I have not had the pleasure of attending this event yet. Last year it was in August in the Hyde Park neighborhood, that neighborhood is a whole vibe (if you know, you know energy).
As a independent filmmaker myself I definitely talk about and encourage as many people as possible to attend events like this because it is a huge networking event.
I love when people use their platform to help lift up the community and mentor the next generation. This is fire!!
They partnered up with AMC+ to premiere 5 short films on the platform. Now this is no shade to the Tubi platform but AMC is known for having groundbreaking content like the Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Interview with the Vampire, Into the Badlands, and literally so much more. My point is being on this platform is amazing and well deserved.
The five short films that are features on AMC+ is “Brand New”, “The Come up”, “Mr. Abbott”, “Cottage Grove” and “A Real One”. I literally signed up for AMC+ for these short films.
